In 2012, Hanato Morito was started by graphic designer, Soonhwa and her friend Fumi, an illustrator based in Tokyo.  

The concept of the project was to create beautiful educational tools and materials that families could use to play and learn together. 

The Animal Hiragana Posters were sold at NADiff store in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo. They have been featured in a magazine and by bloggers.
